Hey there! I’m Raymond Cheng, and I’d love to invite you to join the Open Source Prosperity Project.

I’ve spent years thinking about the people behind the open source software we all rely on every day. The code is everywhere, but the stories of the people who build and maintain it are rarely told.

That’s why we started this project. We want to have honest conversations with open source maintainers about their journeys, the challenges of sustaining critical software, the economic realities they face, and how they see the future of open source in an AI-driven world.

This isn't just another tech podcast. It's a chance to explore how the modern world came to depend on open source software, where the current funding model falls short, and what it will take to build a future where maintainers can thrive, not just survive.

Through this project, and the broader Prosperous Software Movement, we’re working toward a future where the people who build our digital infrastructure can finally share in the value and prosperity they create.
